FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- PharmaChem have been a major sponsor of the GBPA Conchman Triathlon over the last three years. The company has always focused on the safety of its employees and the Grand Bahama community and they also try to encourage people to stay healthy and active.

When Hans Schuhbauer, COO at PharmaChem, heard that the GBPA Conchman Triathlon Committee were going to insist that all participants of the event wore cycling helmets when competing, including all the children taking part in IronKids, he was keen to help by donating helmets for participants to use.

“Safety is not only good practice, it’s a person’s right. All we want is for people to be safe so can get back home to their families every single day”. Safety does not have to begin and end at work. Safety needs to be lived with everything that we do, including when we go exercise. Being aware of one’s surroundings, wearing lights when walking or running at night, and wearing a helmet when riding a bike can make a difference.Randy Thompson, CEO of PharmaChem, says that they are always keen to help local events, especially those that encourage Bahamians to keep fit, while at the same time keeping an eye on safety for participants.

Ravanno Ferguson of FastTrack Management, who are now closely involved in organizing the November 3rd event at Taino Beach, expressed his gratitude to PharmaChem for their contribution. “It is great that PharmaChem have seen the need for participants to be safety conscious by donating the helmets to the Committee.”
