GBPA Conchman Triathlon promoted at Miami event
FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- Instead of the usual Father's Day activities, GBPA Conchman Triathlon Committee Chairman, Christopher Baker, travelled to Miami, Florida in June to participate in the Key Biscayne Triathlon, part of the Multi-Race Triathlon Trilogy series.
While in South Florida Christopher took the opportunity to canvas interest in the GBPA Conchman Triathlon by distributing colourful postcards to those registering pre-race and to many of the triathletes at the event. A lot of interest was shown in participating in the 31st annual Conchman, which takes place on beautiful Taino Beach, November 4th, 2017. The committee are hopeful that Mr. Baker's trip will result in a lot of new faces at Conchman this year.In addition to promoting Grand Bahama's triathlon attributes, Christopher bumped into Hector Picard, a double arm amputee and motivational speaker, who participated in Conchman in 2010 and has gone on competing in Ironman triathlons in the USA.
At the Key Biscayne Triathlon Hector took part in the Duathlon, pulling his physically-challenged friend around the swim course and then pushing her in a wheelchair on the 3-mile run. After meeting Christopher at the event Hector said he would definitely try and make it over to Freeport for the GBPA Conchman Triathlon in November.Registration for the 31st annual GBPA Conchman Triathlon is now open, and offering a special 10% discount for early-birds until September 1st.
